camcorder, transferred to VHS and subsequently edited using
Pinnacle DV500 with Adobe Premiere 6.01. |

In July 2002, our family
took a two day rafting trip down the New River in West Virginia.
At the end of the trip I purchased a souvenir video of our experience.
Not completely satisfied with the quality of the video I just purchased,
I decided to
turn their film into my film.
Their original video was
shot by guides from Appalachian Wildwaters. The video
quality was second generation but the content was good. I deleted unnecessary scenes
and added digital photographs I took along the way. My son Mike
did the voice over while I added a much more appropriate musical soundtrack.
The backing soundtrack
consisted of several instrumentals from 60's guitar icons
The Ventures as well as contemporary artists,
guitar icon
Steve Morse and the
Blue Man Group.
