Geek Stuff:  Filmed with Sony MiniDV camcorder and edited using Adobe Pinnacle DV500 and Adobe Premiere 6.5.  Sound effects ripped from the internet.

What a way to spend your 52 birthday.  This video was recorded on Sony miniDV by Appalachian Wildwaters videographer Ben Edson.  Ben traveled with our group on kayak,  always staying just a few hundred yards in front of us.  When a photo op was imminent, Ben exited his kayak and shot this incredible footage and we plowed through class V rapids.

Having learned from my last experience in July 2002, I purchased the unedited digital video tape, added digital stills pictures along with a killer background soundtrack complements of Blue Man Group and Widespread Panic

This was an awesome experience, covering 26 miles of the Gauley river and navigating over 99 rapids, most of which were class 4 and 5.

Note... this video is an excerpt from the full-length version which runs runs 19 minutes.  In the interest of diminished hard drive space on my web server, I cut this video to show only the most exciting moments.
