The Band of Rafters has grown from a small group of 6 guys in 2003 to a massive array of 27 (mostly) brave men in 2006.  This nine-part video chronicles the adventures of this years troop complete with it's 30% infection/defection on Day 2.

Friday night launches the escapades for the Band Of Rafters.  This year's event was kicked off with an incredible BBQ dinner catered by Fayetteville's own... Dirty Ernie's Rib Pit and washed down with three kegs of Killian's Red Ale.

Saturday started out cold and rainy but who cares... you're  gonna get wet soon anyway.  The secret here is don't eat a big breakfast!

Time to get the boats ready and our wet-suited  bodies ready for our first trip down the Gauley.

We soon learned that the Gauley was pushing about 30% more water than usual.  In a short time, many of the Band of Rafters will soon wish they stayed home instead of challenging Mother Nature.

Time to dry out and warm up.  The Band now has a chance to sit back and reflect on the hell they all experienced.

Ten out of our original 37 rafters have decided not to participate in the next day's excitement of running the upper Gauley again.  For them, once was enough.  These 10 have been diagnosed with a rare but highly contagious illness know as "Vaginitus."

All water video recorded with single-chip, Sony miniDV camcorders while 3 chip Panasonic GS500 and Sony HC35 single chip miniDV were used to record the land based footage.  All editing performed with Avid Liquid 7.1.  Windows Media 9 used to encode these files.
