Mike becomes a model citizen

Charlotte 12/21/98 - A year ago I wrote an article in The Charlatan that painted a very unflattering picture of Mike Browne. It showed him as a very self-centered and selfish individual who didn't give a rat's ass about anybody else except Mike.

Well I am proud to report that in 1998, Mike is definitely on the road to recovery. His deep depression and aberrant behavior was a direct result of being torn away from his Beantown Bimbo, for as soon as he found a new girlfriend here in Charlotte, it was like witnessing a rebirth. I'm not sure if it was economics or love but Mike did manage to rid himself of his long distance romance. All it took was time and long distance bills to bring Mike to his senses.

Now don't get me wrong, Mike is still self-centered and quite selfish. The big difference now is, he is no longer plotting to make our lives miserable... that just happens naturally. Scholastically, he is doing quite well and maintains 4.2 GPA in his junior year. Mike just received his SAT results and scored 1160. Not to bad for the first time out.

As for athletics... he played on both the varsity football and baseball teams. He was the backup quarterback on the football team. That sucked because he hardly ever played. The coach finally allowed him to hold the ball for extra point and field goal plays. That doesn't even warrant a shower after the game!

During baseball season, he was an all around utility man... playing catcher, third base and some outfield.
