The Funk Hits the Fan...

If you ask Michael Browne how was 1997, you better watch out for the barrage of venomous comments.   As far as he is concerned, the news of my new job could not have come at a worse time.  How was I to know his hormones finally kicked in and he found true love - just three weeks before I broke the news of our move to North Carolina?

The little creep even had the nerve to suggest I turn down my new job offer or commute between Charlotte and Boston!

Mike was in a constant state of depression -  continually bitching about rotten his life had become

About 6 months after our arrival and coincidental with the start of school, Mike's PMS-like mood swings became more controlled.  He actually started acting like a normal kid again.  The old Mike was back!

His self-inflicted funk was really beginning to take its toll on Fran and me.  Admitting that his primary goal was to piss us off and make our lives miserable, Mike had no idea that he was messing with the "master."

Mike made the football team in his first year as a Sophomore.  He became the starting Junior Varsity quarterback.  At a post-season awards ceremony, he won the award as Most Valuable Player.

Now that the football season is over, Mike is setting his sights now on making the varsity baseball team. Taking full advantage of the school's weight training program, Mike is looking to "buff-up" before the new season starts. Occasionally, Fran will catch him "posing" in front of the mirror, admiring the emergence of his new musculature.
