Confused and totally
disoriented, Fran (a.k.a. Barrie) Browne was captured
by security cameras at Atlanta's Olympic Park removing coins from a
wishing fountain. Since the fountain was not active at time, Ms.
Browne assumed she would be able to "scoop" up some
of the available change deposited by visitors.
As soon as her ill gotten booty was pocked, the fountains turned on trapping her in this "aquafied" prison. Atlanta police minutes later and donned appropriate rain gear. |

They
handcuffed Ms. Browne and took her to Police Headquarters.
Bond was set at $200 and was quickly paid by her friend (and suspected accomplice) Joan Wynn of Hollywood Florida. Police became suspicious when Ms. Browne's bail was paid with wet pennies, nickels and dimes. Atlanta detectives hypothesized that this current day Thelma and Louise, were on an East Coast crime spree, looting major metropolitan wishing fountains. |
